Last week we learned about the letter "W."
For Show-&-Tell Taylee brought a Wallet and a Watch, Liam showed us a Worm (gummy!), and Elle had a hand full of Water!
We learned about Plants. First, we look a little field trip outside to look at lots of different plants. The preschoolers found strawberries, mini grapes, corn, tomatoes, peppers, pees, beats, flowers, trees, bushes, etc... We talked about what they need to grow, the different parts of a plant and how plants provide important food for us to eat.
Before we planted our own real seeds we experimented first. We used pudding as the dirt, made a hole, planted chocolate chips inside and then covered it back up:) This was a fun little snack for the preschoolers and prepared them for planting their own seeds.
Brennan is writing his name on the plant pot.
Here is a picture of Liam and Abby filling their pots with soil.
After their seeds were planted we watered them and put them in the sun. We also learned this song sung to the tune of London Bridge:
Plant a seed and water it
water it, water it,
Plant a seed a water it
Then we'll watch it grow.
Plant a seed and put it in the sun,
in the sun, in the sun,
Plant a seed and put it in the sun
Then we'll watch it grow.
Hopefully you've been able to watch you seeds grow at home!
