L is for Licking

This week in preschool we learned all about the letter "Ll," the color purple and the shape of a diamond!  We also discussed the math terms of more, less and equal to.

For Show-&-Tell Abby brought a picture of the her Family (the Lindell's), Charlotte showed us her "delicate" LaLa Loopsy Doll, Brennan brought a Light that he uses at night and Connor brought a LOVE sign since it is the month of Love!

Our new theme this month is "It's a Small World."  For our first week we learned all about those who love us the most ... our families.  The preschoolers learned this song (sang to the tune of 'Mary had a Little Lamb'):
(Students Name) has a family, family, family
(Students Name) has a family
Who loves (him/her) very much!

We drew a picture of a family tree and then the preschoolers were able to put on their smocks and paint their own!

They all loved painting!

Here's one example of a finished paint project as well as one of the stories we read called, "Are You My Mother?"

The preschoolers were also able to create their own families using play dough.  Here is Liam holding up his Mom and Dad ... and Abby with her Dad, Mom, Brother, Sister and herself.

To finish off the day, every student was able to show us a picture of their own family and tell us a little bit about them.  Here's Taylee pointing to all of her brothers while they were swimming and Anniston showing the preschoolers that she is going to be having a new baby brother in June!

Next week we'll be celebrating Valentine's Day together ... preschoolers can bring 8 valentines to share with their friends in class!
